What do you chase?
The moment when you're riding through the perfect tree run on a powder day, and you find everything quiet down and come to the happiest moment of clarity with the mountain. And Billy Strings!
How did you decide on Copper Mountain Resort?
I was doing seasonal work up in Denali National Park in Alaska, and I had never been snowboarding before or even on top of a mountain in the snow. That summer was my first ever in a mountain area learning how to hike and camp. Copper Mountain recruiters came out to the hotel I was working at and as soon as I heard about Copper, I knew it was meant to be my next adventure to the mountains.
Living the resort lifestyle has its challenges, what advice would you give someone choosing this career path?
Living the resort lifestyle can have its challenges mentally and physically, but it can also have some of the greatest rewards life has to offer. My biggest piece of advice is to fall in love with the mountain, whether it’s snowboarding, skiing, biking, tubing, or even just sitting in a bench looking at your favorite view on the resort. It’s in those moments where you find your voice, your dreams, and your center.
What do you like about working for Copper?
After 12 years, my favorite part about working for Copper is still the community of people that come together to make it all happen. Living far away from home can be scary, but the support of the people around Copper and the passion that you see in everyone for the mountain makes it feel like home.
