Job Title: Building Services Supervisor
Seasons at Copper Mountain Resort: 5th Season
What do you chase?
I chase summit sunrises – I’ve spent the last 10 years out here climbing all the high peaks throughout this beautiful state!
How did you decide on Copper Mountain Resort?
Copper was one of the first ski resorts I went to after moving here, it became apparent to me that it was my home away from home. Now it’s my home!
Living the resort lifestyle has its challenges, what advice would you give someone choosing this career path?
Living the resort lifestyle is rewarding but demands adaptability and a motivated mindset. For those pursuing this career, my advice is to embrace continuous learning and develop a strong work ethic. As a Building Services Supervisor with a background in residential construction and restoration, I’ve learned that every day presents unique challenges - from managing an internal team of maintenance professionals to balancing guest satisfaction with long-term facility upkeep. Success comes from staying organized, nurturing teamwork, saying yes we can fix that ALWAYS, and finding satisfaction in creating a seamless experience for our thousands of visitors. Above all, be prepared to work hard while enjoying the dynamic environment that is the resort lifestyle! It’s a career path as fulfilling as it is challenging.
What do you like about working for Copper?
There are many things I enjoy about working at Copper – but a few stand out the most. First are the people – everyone moved out for the same reason you did! There are many like-minded individuals working here, just get to know them, they might end up being a great friend as well as a co-workers. The second would have to be the constant mentorship from my leaders to pursue furthering my skills/certifications and my career development. I am living my childhood dream working here – I can remember snowboard trips as a young kid thinking “Wouldn’t it be amazing to live at a ski resort? And get to snowboard all the time?!”
