What to Expect
We’re excited you want to work at Copper Mountain Resort! The vision is real and you can’t wait to get those first pow shots while out on the mountain. But what happens now? What to expect? Don’t worry—we’ll break it down for you with the information below.

Work
Schedule
- You have applied and accepted a position, which is great! While working for us, keep in mind that we are busy during “peak times”...no pun intended. That means we are busy over holiday weekends, spring breaks, etc.… You are expected to work on holidays and weekends. Keep in mind that means you can ski/ride on your days off when the resort may be less busy, for example, during the week.
- Some positions are not your typical 9-5. You should expect to be up early most days if you are a Lift Operator as we have early season training, early opening for lifts, etc. Keep in mind that may come with the benefit of first tracks. Some positions are swing or graveyard shifts, so stay in touch with your manager about your schedule.
- Please note, we cannot guarantee any work before the agreed-upon start date with your manager. If you arrive early or are looking to pick up shifts, please contact your manager.

Second Job
- You may want to pick up a second job while working at the ski resort. Please note, we try and limit multiple positions at the ski resort so that there are not running into scheduling conflicts, overtime issues, etc. There are companies located at Copper Mountain that are not owned by the resort – ie. clothing stores, restaurants, etc. Feel free to seek them out for open positions, or you can search for positions located in nearby towns such as Frisco, Silverthorne, Dillon, Breckenridge, and Keystone.
- We will occasionally have special events or opportunities to make some extra money by picking up extra shifts. Please keep an eye out for postings around the EDGE (our employee facility) or reach out to recruiter@coppercolorado.com for more information.
Guests
- We love to promote that we are working in a service industry! Our guests are our lifeblood; and some save up money all year to visit us for one week. We have the privilege of living and working here for an entire season. As you take care of the guest, we in turn take care of you by hosting celebrations, free dinners, and a week-long appreciation week. We are always looking for ways to elevate experiences for our guests so that they can continue to come back year after year. Please speak with your manager if you see any ways for us to improve helping our guests.
