Job Title:
Lift Operations Assitant Manager
Seasons at Copper Mountain Resort:
I have been at Copper Mountain for 8 awesome seasons, year around
What do you chase?
I chase ‘Summer Days’, don’t get me wrong, I love winter but summer in the mountains is my most favorite thing- I think there’s a saying around here “Come for the winter, stay for the summer”.
How did you decide on Copper Mountain Resort?
I came to Copper Mountain because I had family that worked and lived here. I applied to tons of jobs, but I was happiest when I landed an interview with the hiring supervisor of Lift Operations, I knew I wanted to do something outside.
Living the resort lifestyle has its challenges, what advice would you give someone choosing this career path?
Living the resort lifestyle is difficult, one piece of advice I can give is to take chances and never stop pushing yourself! Go skiing 200 days in a season, skin up the mountain at 5:00 am to watch the sunrise, drop that cornice just so you can say you did, apply for a job even if you think there’s no way you’ll get it. You’ll miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
What do you like about working for Copper?
My favorite part about being the Assistant Manager of Lift Operations is going out and playing lifty; I will go bump chairs, shovel snow, sweep chairs, talk to guests and continue training while I’m at it. Leading by example is very important to me and with this position I get to do that every day!
