Community Upgrades

Copper continues to make investments in the mountain and the resort community. Keep informed on the ongoing projects that Copper is working on to improve the resort experience.

Timberline Chairlift Replacement

Copper Mountain has confirmed its partnership with Leitner Poma to upgrade the Timberline Express chairlift located on the western side of the mountain. The resort will be replacing the 4-person chairlift with a high-speed 6-pack chairlift, which will greatly increase the lift’s uphill capacity. The new lift is expected to be installed during the summer of 2024 and set to debut for the 2024-25 winter season. This upgrade reaffirms Copper Mountain's commitment to investing in the on-mountain experience. The chair replacement is in continuation of the resort's Western Territory expansion and once complete, will increase access to some of Copper Mountain's most sought-after groomed terrain. With a focus on enhancing convenience and accessibility, the upgrade will cater to both seasoned athletes and beginners, ensuring everyone can spend more time exploring the resort’s Western Territory and less time on the lift.

Mountain Sprouts Academy: Community Childcare

A new childcare facility has opened at Copper Mountain in Copper's Center Village for resort community members and employees. Mountain Sprouts Academy is providing more than 45 childcare spots for those that live and work within Copper Mountain. Copper Mountain Resort Association (CMRA), the non-profit organization that represents commercial and residential property owners at Copper, has been leading the initiative since last fall. The new daycare center is located within Snowbridge Square, offering designated spaces for infants, toddlers, and pre-school aged children. Other essential amenities like a full-service kitchen offering breakfast and lunch for children, washer and dryer, a state-of-the-art security system and check-in station will be included. There are plans to incorporate an 1,800 square foot outdoor area with a designated outdoor infant area.  The facility officially opened its doors February 2024.

Aerie, Copper's New Mid-Mountain Lodge: Open for the 2023/24 Season

Copper is heightening its on-mountain dining experiences with the addition of a new lodge, to be known as The Aerie. This space will replace the existing Solitude Station mid-mountain lodge, located at the top of the American Eagle lift. An aerie an be defined as a large nest of a bird of prey - especially an eagle - typically built high in a tree or on a cliff. With the lodge sitting atop the American Eagle lift, the resort believes this name reverberates the dominate energy of Copper's future.

The Aerie will consist of a 25,000-square-foot, two-story building and the gondola will unload on the second-floor deck, which will allow for a seamless transition for all guests, including those arriving by foot. For the first time at Copper, the new lodge will offer a full-service on-mountain restaurant “Forage and Feast” featuring unique Colorado cuisine. With a full-service casual restaurant, bar and lounge, a private dining area for events, cafeteria, and 270-degree views of the Gore and Ten Mile Ranges, this project will take Copper’s on-mountain dining to the next level and continue to improve the year-round mountain experience at the resort.

Three Bears Chair on Tucker Mountain

Explore 273 acres of terrain on Tucker Mountain with the Three Bears lift, which opened December 2019. This three-person fixed grip lift accesses terrain that was previously accessible via snowcat or hiking only. The lift comes complete with a ski patrol warming hut at the summit.

Tucker Mountain has long been considered some of the best expert terrain in-bounds at any Colorado ski resort. The north-facing slopes allow snow to remain pristine meaning powder turns long after the last storm. Coming in at 12,337 feet in elevation, the turns are as sweet as the views.
