The Mountain

In February 2006, the White River National Forest approved several projects at Copper Mountain Resort to improve current infrastructure and quality of experience for visitors. Approved as part of Copper Mountain's Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), the projects include new snowmaking in the Timberline Express area, significant expansion to Solitude Station, lift access on Tucker Mountain and gladed skiing and riding in the areas of Union Meadows, Super Bee and Fremont Glades.

"We're very pleased to have worked closely with our partners at the US Forest Service in order to provide a greater guest experience here at Copper Mountain," said Copper Mountain General Manager Gary Rodgers. "In the coming years, guests will see new trails, improved snowmaking and expanded restaurant facilities on the mountain, all geared toward creating memories for our guests and staff."

The projects approved in Copper Mountain's EIS represent the best balance in meeting public expectations for quality alpine experiences and year-round recreational opportunities in the White River National Forest, while minimizing or avoiding potential environmental impacts through careful planning and effective mitigation measures and monitoring requirements.
