Youth Lessons are offered for ages 3-17

Classes available for all ability levels, from first timers to expert skiers and snowboarders

Dec 15th - April 9th, Group Lessons, Start with Woodward and Ride with Woodward lessons will meet in West Village.

Ski & Ride School Lessons start at 9:30am and conclude at 3:00pm.

Ride with Woodward and Start with Woodward lessons start at 9:30am and conclude at 4:00pm.

What to expect?

You'll need

  • Winter clothing i.e. one pair of winter socks, long underwear, water proof & insulated jacket/pants, hat, gloves/mittens, sun glasses or goggles and a helmet is recommended (lesson participants under 18 are required to wear a helmet)

2016/17 Youth Group Lessons (Ages 3-5)

We are proud to be one of the few schools that limit group sizes to ensure a personable experience on snow. We offer lessons at a maximum of 5 students for skiing and snowboarding. Children will experience the excitement of snow sliding in groups of similar ability. The day includes ski or snowboard time and other interactive, age appropriate snow play. Lessons include a lift ticket, lunch, and real-time GPS tracking provided by FlaikTM for superior safety and peace of mind.

Students are closely arranged in small groups, at a maximum of 7 students per class by age and ability. Lesson packages include lunch, and real-time GPS tracking provided by FlaikTM for superior safety and peace of mind.

2016/17 Start & Ride with Woodward Lessons

*All Woodward group lessons end April 9th - private lessons are available through April 16th

From on-snow lessons to indoor sessions in our 19,000 square foot action sports training facility “The Barn”, Woodward Copper offers classes, camps and programs for all ages and abilities. Improve your ski or snowboard skills with Start with Woodward and Ride with Woodward Lessons, or visit the Woodward Copper Barn featuring foam pits, olympic trampolines, skateparks and indoor snow training tools like ParkSkis and Burton ParkBoards.

 

Start with Woodward:  New to skiing or snowboarding?  Learn the Woodward way with our new Start with Woodward lesson program.  Start with Woodward lessons are semi-private with a maximum class size of 5.  Your lesson will start on snow and end with indoor training at the Woodward Copper Barn.  Start with Woodward lessons are available for ages 6-17 and all ability levels are welcome including those who have never skied or snowboarded.  Lunch is included with Start with Woodward lessons.

Ride with Woodward: Ride with Woodward Lessons are for skiers and snowboarders ages 6 and up who want to develop their park and pipe skills. Ride with Woodward Lessons have access to the exclusive Woodward Zone at Copper Mountain that includes a terrain park, sound system, and BagJump NIP airbag jump on select weekends. Participants should be comfortable on blue terrain but no previous terrain park ability is required! Participants will spend their day progressing their skills on snow and as well as working on air awareness in our indoor training facility the Woodward Copper Barn. Ride with Woodward lessons are semi-private with a maximum class size of 7. Lunch is included with Ride with Woodward lessons.

 

 

 

Wear a Helmet

A helmet is required while skiing or riding for all youth (ages 18 & under) participants in group or private lessons. Youth Rental Equipment packages include a helmet. Helmets are also available to rent separately.

 

Other Essentials

Please come prepared for winter conditions! In addition to a helmet, you will need; waterproof gloves or mittens, goggles or sunglasses, waterproof jacket and pants and sunscreen is highly recommended.

 

Prepare for Your Lesson

Advanced reservations are highly recommended. Please arrive with plenty of time to go through the check-in process at guest services and rentals which begins at 8:00am. All Programming & Locations are subject to change and may be dependent on snow & conditions. Call us direct at 866.549.9934

  • If you need rentals, please arrive at least 1 hour early to begin the rental process, or pick them up the night before after 3pm.
  • Children must be completely toilet trained and out of diapers and pull-ups to participate in our Pre-K program. If your child is not using the bathroom independently, please see our Mini Stars option and/or Belly Button Bakery Daycare.
  • Children must be ready for a peaceful separation from parents to participate in our group Ski and Ride School lessons. If your child is uncomfortable with the idea of skiing or riding without you, please consider our family private option to introduce them to the sport. 
  • We are a nut aware school: Bringing outside food due to allergies or picky eating is fine, but please make it nut-free.
  • Our lessons start at 9:30. If your child is a chair rider, please consider timing your arrival closer to 9 as to allow time for the class to get ready and depart the schoolhouse at 9:30.

 

We will begin selling lessons for the 2017-18 season in mid-August 2017.
