Green Acres

Green Acres is one of Copper Mountain’s best kept secrets for beginners, tucked in between our East and Center Village!

You can utilize the Easy Rider learning area for your first time skiing/ riding experience in the Center Village. Also, the West village chair lifts, Kokomo and Lumberjack, are available for beginner use.

What to know before you go!

  • Green Acres, is a short, gentle learning area where beginner skier and snowboarders can hone their basic skills using a beginner chairlift.
  • There are no services in Green Acres, so you'll need to have your gear and lift ticket before you head to Green Acres. There is a warming hut and portable restrooms available for all guests.
  • Green Acres Lift Tickets are $20 and are available at our ticket windows or Guest services in Center Village. The Green Acres lift ticket is good for the Pitchfork and Gem Chairlifts, you may upgrade your Green Acres ticket to a full mountain lift ticket at Center Village Guest Services for an additional fee. Everyone who rides a chairlift must have both a valid lift ticket, and the proper required ski or snowboard equipment. For a list of approved devices click here
  • The Gem platter lift is a dedicated chairlift for our Ski and Ride School Guests and operates as needed for our Ski and Ride School click here for information on lessons

Getting There

  • Pro tip-The easiest way to access Green Acres is by walking, skiing or snowboarding downhill via the Green Acres access road. Ride the Easy Rider magic carpet in Center Village, when you get off at the top, take a left onto the Green Acres Access road and walk, Ski or Snowboard approx. 300 yards to Green Acres. Watch for snowmobiles and snowcats on this road as it is a two-way road!
  • Transportation to Green Acres is also available via our bus system from any Copper Village, please note that there is a 200 yard uphill walk from where the bus drops you off (right across from the Woodward Barn), to the Green Acres learning area.
  • Ski and Ride School guests may also access Green Acres via our designated Ski and Ride School snowmobile shuttle. Please note that this service is dedicated to serving our Ski and Ride School guests, and can only stop at designated locations for the safety of all guests. Public transportation via this shuttle is only available when not in service for Ski and Ride School Guests, and the guests must be at one of our pick up or drop off locations at the Center and West Village Lesson Flags, or at Green Acres. Enjoying Green Acres

  • Pro tip-If you have never skied or ridden before, try the Easy Rider magic carpet in Center Village before coming to Green Acres. Once you get to Green Acres explore our terrain based features at the bottom of the trail before trying the chairlift, or take a lesson with our Ski and Ride School! Getting Back To Our Villages

  • Pro tip- the easiest and fastest way to get back to Copper’s main villages is to walk, ski or ride downhill to the free shuttle bus stop located at the very bottom of the hill across from the Woodward Barn on Copper Road.
  • Walk back to center or East Village via the Green Acres access road. Approx.300 yards to Center Village and 500 yards to East Village
  • Ski and Ride School guests may also access Green Acres via our designated Ski and Ride School snowmobile shuttle. Please note that this service is dedicated to serving our Ski and Ride School guests, and can only stop at designated locations for the safety of all guests. Public transportation via this shuttle is only available when not in service for Ski and Ride School Guests, and the guests must be at one of our pick up or drop off locations at the Center and West Village Lesson Flags, or at Green Acres.
