Knowing the Ropes Helps
A typical day starts at 9am sharp (changing to 10am with daylight savings), and includes maximum time on the snow, with lift line privileges, and discounted lunch opportunities.
The Gang skis in guided groups on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from December 14th until March 30st (except for breaks during the Christmas holidays and President's Weekends). In all, there are 52 glorious days from which to choose, the choices being as great as Copper's divided terrain. Group sizes may vary, yet we always ensure you are with a pro and other members of similar ability to create group compatibility.
Levels & Group Abilities
|Double Black Diamond and High Alpine Terrain (OHG level 6)
This group skis everywhere on the mountain, under any condition at a fast pace. Incline is only for the serious upper-level skier. This group skis powder, bumps, trees, off-piste, and may include some hiking. If you ski all conditions on all terrain on any day, this group is for you.
|Black and some Double Black Diamond Trails (OHG level 5)
This group skis all of the front side and most of the backside of the mountain. Diamond Dusters ski all sizes of bumps and powder, usually at a quick pace on marked trails. This group is comfortable in ungroomed terrain.
|Black Diamond Trails (OHG level 4)
This group skis some blue and mostly black diamond terrain. You should be comfortable in small bumps and be able to negotiate crud conditions and dabble in bigger bumps. Decline starts to explore our steeper bowls and higher alpine terrain at a moderate pace.
|Blue Square and Black Diamond Trails (OHG level 3)
This group skis mostly blue and some groomed black terrain, skiing groomed runs for warm ups then exploring blue and easy black bumps at a steady pace.
|Blue Square Trails (OHG level 2)
This group skis comfortably and predominantly on most blue and some groomed black trail terrain, preferring groomed terrain at a steady pace.
|Green Circle and Blue Square Trails (OHG level 1)
This group starts the day on green groomed terrain and goes on to explore groomed blue terrain, stopping along the trail for stories and tales at a slower pace.
***OHG reserves the right to recommend the appropriate group to members based upon the safety conditions and skier ability at any time
