Together with Bob Marley, The Original Wailers have sold in excess of 250 million albums worldwide and Marley’s legend lives on through the band. They have played or performed with international acts like Sting, the Fugees, Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana and Alpha Blondy, as well as reggae legends such as Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer and Burning Spear. As the greatest living exponents of Jamaica’s reggae tradition, The Original Wailers have completed innumerable tours, playing to an estimated 24 million people across the globe, in addition to headlining Sunsation on Saturday, April 11.
The Lee Boys, consisting of three brothers, are one of America's finest African-American “sacred steel” ensembles. "Sacred steel" is described as an inspired, unique form of Gospel music with a hard-driving, blues-based beat. The musical genre is rooted in Gospel, but infused with rhythm and blues, jazz, rock, funk, hip-hop, country and ideas from other nations, with the pedal steel guitar being the central instrument. Enjoy Colorado’s largest Easter Egg Hunt in the morning and then dance to the sounds of The Lee Boys through the afternoon at Copper’s Sunsation on Easter Sunday, April 12.
DJ Z-Trip is one of the most popular DJs of our time, doing more than 100 shows a year, every year. Considered by many to be a founder of the mash-up movement, his musical tastes are eclectic and his mixing style rejects simple classification, and he will be a great addition to the Sunsation line-up on Saturday, April 18.
BoomBox is producer/DJ Russ Randolph and singer/songwriter/guitarist Zion Rock Godchaux. This pair of dynamic artists uses their rich musical history and their vision of music and popular culture to deliver a style of music distinctly different from anything heard or seen in music today. As much producers as they are musicians, it is Randolph’s understanding of soundscape and Godchaux’s knack for songwriting that keeps BoomBox resonating at higher levels. BoomBox will share the stage with The Wailers featuring Junior Marvin & Al Anderson on Saturday, April 11 at Copper’s Sunsation.
