STAY ACTIVE WHILE SUPPORTING A NOBLE CAUSE AT COPPER MOUNTAIN
Copper Mountain to Host the Courage Classic, Hike MS, and Copper Triangle
Copper Mountain, CO…July 18, 2011…As host to three noteworthy charitable events this summer, Copper Mountain encourages cyclists, hikers, and volunteers to join them in raising much needed funding for the Children's Hospital of Denver, the National MS Society, and the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson's disease research. Participants of all ages and skill level will have the opportunity to make a contribution to the community, whether it be taking on the challenging 3-day cycling course of the Courage Classic, enjoying the leisurely 2-mile Green Course of HikeMS, or enjoying the 78-mile picturesque tour of the Rocky Mountains at the Copper Triangle.
THE COURAGE CLASSIC, July
THE CAUSE: The Children's Hospital of Denver - The Children's Fund aims to provide each patient and their family with the best possible healthcare experience. Gifts to the Children's Fund helped support 150,200 children in 2009 alone, and in 2010 the race raised an incredible $2.3 million! Cyclists may also be interested to know that a portion of Courage Classic fundraising supports the hospital's Sports Program, which "helps patients with physical disabilities experience freedom from physical challenges through activities like skiing, snowboarding, fishing, and cycling".
THE COURSE: Over 2000 avid cyclists will test their physical endurance as they ride 157 miles through some of the most beautiful towns and challenging mountain passes of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Families and individuals are invited to participate in the 35-mile short course or the 100-mile century ride on Sunday.

THE COURSE: Coloradans’ interest in outdoor pursuits and healthy activities make this event perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, day hikers, members of the MS Society family and community members who wish to support a great cause. Families may enjoy a leisurely 2-mile hike on the Green Route, while experienced hikers can choose the more advanced 5 mile Blue Route or take on the challenge of the 10 mile Black Route.
