Hike MS, July 30*

Coloradans’ interest in outdoor pursuits and healthy activities makes this Hike MS event perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, day hikers, current members of the MS Society family and community members who wish to support a great cause. Hike MS was created in 2010 to challenge participants of varying ability and experience levels with three progressively challenging Hike MS routes - make a powerful statement and keep moving toward a cure.

You’ll move. You’ll be moved. During Hike MS on Saturday, July 30, families may enjoy a leisurely 2-mile hike on the Green Route, while experienced hikers can choose the more advanced 5-mile Blue Route, or take the challenge and attempt the 10-mile Black Diamond Route, all part of the Copper trail system. While the routes are not wheelchair accessible, the base camp located in the beautiful Copper Mountain Resort Village has several accessible destinations. Please consider joining us as a volunteer to cheer on those hikers attempting the challenge.

For more info or to register for Hike MS, send an email to coloradohikems@nmss.org, call 303.698.7470 or visit The Hike MS Website.

The Freddy Jones Band Benefit Concert, July 30*

In addition, the Freddy Jones Band (FJB) will perform a free show in Burning Stones Plaza, collecting suggested $5 donations for MS. Enjoy this roots rock/blues/folk rock band from Chicago, Illinois at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 30. Rolling Stone Magazine praised the group's "fine line between schizophrenic jam band and sensibly-minded pop-rock," and the All Music Guide opined that it's "sound at times is reminiscent of the Allman Brothers." This is a show not to miss!

Fridays at Copper*

This summer, FAC stands for Fridays at Copper, and it also stands for FREE. Copper's FAC includes free music, free movies and free activities. Ok, the activities are almost free. Spend $30 in the Village this week and you get free tickets to the village activities, from bungee to bumper boats. We’re talking free music, activities out the yin and the yang, cold brewskies, and scenery that will leave you breathless. No, that’s not just the altitude talking.

  • Friday Night Street Party, July 29 – Free live music by The Congress, Denver’s most exciting, innovative and respected Americana/Rock/Soul band. “The Congress has established itself as a passionate, soulful live act, with rich, stirring songs,” The Denver Post.
  • Burning Stones Outdoor Theater, July 29 - Free showing of How to Train Your Dragon (PG), the 2010 animation adventure comedy, where a hapless young Viking who aspires to hunt dragons becomes the unlikely friend of a young dragon himself, and learns there may be more to the creatures than he assumed.
