Copper Kicks Off Summer with Two Exciting New Events: Tomato Battle & Mountain Pose Yoga Festival
Copper Mountain, CO…June 22, 2011…Copper Mountain’s summer line-up of special events begins this weekend with the Tomato Battle on Saturday, June 25. In just a couple weeks, another new event takes over Copper, with the Mountain Pose Yoga Festival, July 7-10.
Tomato Battle – The Most Fun You Can Legally Have!
Tomato Battle kicks off the 2011 event season at Copper on June 25. Think: Spain’s La Tomatina + Oktoberfest + live music = Tomato Battle. The festivities begin at noon, with the beer garden, BBQ and event registration. Soon after, live music starting around 1:30 p.m. by Meniskus will fill Burning Stones Plaza, until a welcome speech and a procession to the battle grounds commences at 3 p.m. The battle royal between tomato wielding Mafioso’s starts after the first fruit is thrown at 3:15 p.m. The winner of the Facebook “Tomato Battle of the Bands” contest, Be Brave, starts rocking at 3:30 p.m. In addition, live music and more tasty beverages will be available after the battle royal, with RePlay lighting up the stage at 5 p.m., followed by the Denver-based band, Vices I Admire, taking the stage at 7:30 p.m.

Mountain Pose Yoga Festival, July 7-10
Copper Mountain also introduces another exciting new event this summer, the Mountain Pose Yoga Festival, for healthcare providers and wellness enthusiasts. The festival features 3 days of medical researchers and professionals, yogis, musicians and motivational speakers, in a breathtaking mountain setting. With over 40+ workshops and lectures led by a talented cast of yoga leaders, this educational program has been approved by the American Academy of Family Physicians for up to 6.5 CME credits. While the Mountain Pose Yoga Festival will certainly educate the medical community, everyone interested in yoga, both experienced and novice, are invited to attend. The weekend will be packed with other great entertainment and activities, including concerts, art exhibits, a vendor expo, a fresh juice bar, festival bookstore, free chair massages, a film screening of Titans of Yoga, and of course, all of Copper’s on-mountain and village activities.
