COPPER HOSTS 2009 U.S. FREESKIING OPEN
FEBRUARY 26 – MARCH 1
The 2009 U.S. Freeskiing Open Championships, presented by Woodward at Copper, will be held at Copper for the third year in a row, February 26-28, with a Junior Halfpipe Jam March 1. The 12th annual U.S. Freeskiing Open brings professional and amateur skier halfpipe athletes together to compete for $20,000, in the longest-running premiere Freeskiing event in North America. Athletes 13-and-older will be competing in the U.S. Freeskiing Open, with the Junior Halfpipe Jam open to athletes 6 to 12 years old.
In conjunction with the U.S. Freeskiing Open, Woodward at Copper, the first action sports training facility dedicated to Terrain Park and Pipe progression, will open on Sat. Feb. 28, offering winter courses beginning March 1, and week-long Summer Camps this summer. Participants will have access to Snowflex® ramps, foam pits, trampolines, spring floors and skateboarding features inside the 20,000 square foot indoor Woodward at Copper facility – The Barn.
