Copper Ccreek Golf Course Opens June 19 - Where Your Buck and Ball Go Further

Copper Mountain, CO…June 17, 2009…Copper Creek Golf Course opens for the summer season Friday, June 19 offering amazing value on rates, starting at $29 for 18 holes. Locals, homeowners and vacationing guests alike can also enjoy weekly league play, Staycation Golf and Lodging packages and more throughout the season.

Copper Creek, a 6,057 yard, par-70 course, is a fun, affordable 18-hole course with a level of service that can easily pass for a country club, but with a friendly attitude that fits Summit County. Copper Creek, North America’s highest championship 18-hole golf course, is a mix of links and mountain style holes designed by the venerable Pete and Perry Dye.  This challenging course is also known for its tight fairways that wind through towering pines, Copper’s cozy East Village, beautiful high valley wetlands and along the West Ten Mile Creek.

JJ’s Rocky Mountain Tavern, located in the East Village, will also open this weekend welcoming golfers and all Copper summer guests. From the tee box of the ninth hole, tempted by JJ’s fare, guests can pick up the phone and call-in their own lunch order before they head for the back nine.

Join Copper Creek’s wildly popular Men’s and Ladies league play, weekly throughout the season, offering a great opportunity to socialize with Summit County golf enthusiasts in a healthy, fun atmosphere. Men’s League is held on Wednesdays and Women’s league is on Thursdays throughout the summer featuring on-course contests and fun formats including scrambles, best ball, alternate shots, mystery holes and much more. Copper Creek league packets and information are also available at the golf shop in the East Village or by contacting Golf Operations Supervisor Jeff Ogren at ogrenj@coppercolorado.com

For the best value on a golf getaway, Copper’s Golf Staycation includes one round of 18 holes for each room night.  Stay at Copper and wake up with 18 holes on your schedule at Copper Creek Golf Course. Book with your favorite golf buddy and enjoy this deal together; if you stay for two nights, both complimentary rounds can be used at the same time.
