August 5 – 6 Guitar Town Guitar Clinic
Learn guitar moves right from a Guitar Town performer. The interactive Guitar Town Guitar Clinic with Pete Huttlinger is a workshop full of performances, enabling students to see first-hand what he is able to do with 6 strings and some wood. The workshop includes 4 nights lodging, 1.5 day clinic, continental breakfast and snacks during the sessions. The world’s best guitarists come together at Copper for the 5th annual Guitar Town festival, featuring free guitar workshops, free live music, free viewings of the film Rock Prophecies, the ArtGuitar Silent Auction, Guitar Hero contests, and kid’s music activities all weekend. September 3 - 4 Copper Country Songwriter’s Workshop
The Art and Craft of Songwriting Workshop conducted by songwriters Mark Selby, Tia Sillers, Clay Mills and Sonny LeMaire, will improve your songwriting skills with help from this quartet of award-winning songwriters who have collectively written over 25 number one songs in the rock, country, pop and blues genres. Topics will include: creating and developing song ideas, song form and craft, working with co-writers, writing for a band, the differences and similarities of songs in various genres and much more. September 4 – 6 Copper Country
A Copper Labor Day festival tradition, Copper Country celebrates the best of the American spirit. This year, the festival is free! Incredible live music from headliners America and Little Feat, the Copper Country Arts Festival, a songwriter’s workshop, kids' crafts, Copper Kids’ Corral, mechanical bull rides, a petting zoo and pony rides come together to make it THE Labor Day event for the entire family. Copper’s music lineup this summer includes two young music protégés, playing alongside their mentors. Slated to perform at Guitar Town on Sun., Aug 9, is 17-yr-old blues singer and guitarist Sol Philcox from England, who has been playing guitar since the age of 13. In addition, 16-yr-old Amanda Shaw is scheduled to play at Copper Country on Sat., Sept. 5. Amanda is a New Orleans-based singer, songwriter, fiddler and actress that is part of a new breed of young, roots-based musicians who have embraced both traditional and pop sounds, creating music that is both authentic and bold. Make sure to catch both of these young virtuosos gracing the stage at Copper this summer.
