Copper Hosts 22nd Annual USASA National Championships - April 1, 2011
Copper is the host venue for the largest amateur snowboarding and freeski event on earth - the 2011 USASA Nationals, from April 2 - 12. New this year, the ski and snowboard competitions will be separate, with the snowboarders competing April 2 - 7, and the skiers competing April 9 - 12, including a weather day if needed. This year, more than 1,600 of the top finishers from almost 35 different regions will attend the USASA Nationals to compete against some of the best male and female athletes from around the country in slopestyle, superpipe, boardercross, slalom and giant slalom in their quest to become national champions.

The season is starting off with a bang at Copper, literally and figuratively. In the past 3 days Copper has received 28 inches of fresh powder. In addition, Patrol has been busy blasting terrain to get it open to the public. As of Nov. 17, Copper has 4 lifts open, providing 215 acres on 18 trails, with a 41 inch mid-mountain base. Copper is experiencing some of the best early season conditions in recent memory.

The first-ever Woodward at Copper summer camp session is complete and was sponsored by Orage and Dragon Optics. Campers enjoyed the sunny weather and hitching a ride to Copper’s campers-only on-snow terrain park each day in the morning, with features such as a big-air jump, multiple rails and boxes, and a jump onto an airbag.
