STEP RIGHT UP TO 3 RING WEEKEND

May 25, 2006

Copper Mountain kicks off the Independence Day holiday with a weekend dedicated to music, circus arts and a unique adventure competition, July 1-2. Outdoor enthusiasts can join in the surprising challenges of the adrenaline-pumping Copper Chase, families can enjoy mesmerizing performances from New Vision Cirque and free workshops with the Boulder Circus Center and music fans can listen to Wyclef Jean and Refugee Camp perform a free live concert in Burning Stones Plaza in the heart of the Village at Copper.

Copper Chase
The weekend fun gets underway on Saturday with the Copper Chase adventure competition at 8:30 a.m. The Chase is not the average adventure race. This two-day, two-person team competition incorporates various components including mountain biking, brain puzzlers, water elements, mountain based challenges and other physical and mental trials. Participants must negotiate and finesse their way through the Dare Devil High Ropes, Mystifying Mind Teaser, Go-kart Gridlock, Giant Mud Pit of Mayhem, Obstruction Obstacle Course and more as they strive for a piece of the $6,000 combined cash purse.

The Copper Chase is open to everyone from elite athletes to casual outdoor aficionados. Registration is $100 per team and can be done at www.coppercolorado.com.

Free Circus Workshops
Families and children can explore circus arts and learn something new during the free workshops throughout the Village at Copper Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Members of the New Vision Cirque & Dance Company and Boulder Circus Center teach skills involving tumbling, acro-balance, tight wire, juggling, trapeze, hoop throwing, stilt walking and more. Guests can sign up each day in the workshop tent in Burning Stones Plaza and are encouraged to do so early as space is limited.

New Vision Cirque
New Vision Cirque takes audiences into a world of surreal impossibilities and eccentric reality. The show is an exciting odyssey of daring skill, grace, strength and agility; testing the limits of the human body and challenging what the mind believes is possible. Their show captivates audiences young and old. Tickets are available by calling (800) 841-2481 or at the ticket windows on the day of the show. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 13-and-under.

The New Vision Cirque & Dance Company has been spanning the globe for over 20 years and has been involved in some of the most creative and popular shows in the world including the 2005 Orange Bowl and the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards.

Live Music with Wyclef Jean and Refugee Camp
Wyclef Jean brings his diverse style and poignant rhymes to Copper’s Burning Stones Plaza on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. for a free show.

Jean recently earned a Golden Globe nomination for his track entitled “Million Voices” featured on the soundtrack to the film “Hotel Rwanda” and has been active in his support of his native country through his non-political foundation Yéle Haïti which provides humanitarian aid and assistance to Haïti. According to Jean, “The objective of Yéle Haïti is to restore pride and a reason to hope, and for the whole country to regain the deep spirit and strength that is part of our heritage.”
