The snow riders may be gone for the season but the bull and bronc riders are gathering at Copper Mountain to compete in the Copper Country Rodeo Series beginning June 17. Families and rodeo fans alike can enjoy watching professional bull riding, bareback and saddle bronc riding, trick roping and more while the cowboys vie for a spot in the series finals in September. After the day’s adventure, guests can enjoy Copper’s restaurants and continued entertainment before they revitalize in the comfort of a friendly resort village.
The rodeo action takes place from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. June 17, July 15 and again Aug. 26. Tickets are $10 for adults and free for children 13-and-under with a paying adult. After the rodeo, guests can enjoy the Burning Stones Outdoor Theater with free family-friendly movies including “Star Wars Episode I” and “March of the Penguins.” The excitement culminates at the Copper Country Rodeo Series Finals, Sept. 1 and 2, during Copper Country weekend where only the worthiest cowboys go home with the title of Best in the West.
In addition to the rodeo finals during the Labor Day holiday weekend, the Copper Corral welcomes families to enjoy petting zoos, pony rides, face painting, mutton bustin’ and more. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Lynyrd Skynyrd and Grammy® nominated Big & Rich grace the Copper main stage while fine art exhibitions and the Peak Performer amateur vocal competition round out the weekend’s offerings. Tickets are on sale now at www.ticketmater.com. Rodeo Series Finals tickets are free with the purchase of Copper Country music tickets.
