Season Pass Perks, Why Do Anything Else?

If you plan on skiing/riding Summit County, CO, plan on getting a Copper Pass of any variety. Whether it’s a Season Pass, Four Pack, or Snow Day Pass, you’ve made the right decision. Avoid the crowds and get unmatched value through on-mountain discounts at Copper. Read on to hear why we buy a Copper Pass every season…

As Summit County residents, we get a Copper Season Pass every year.  The mountain has over 2400 acres of top notch terrain and is a great way to avoid the crowds and long lift lines that you find at many of the other resorts.   With no blackout dates, we can ride whenever we’d like, as often as we’d like.  We also enjoy the overall laidback, unpretentious vibe at Copper.  And no, we don’t need heated gondolas with wifi to enjoy a powder day.  Personally, we like to be on the slopes rather than stuck in lift lines or on chairs.

Originally from the Midwest, we get lots of visitors who’d like to get a taste of our Rocky Mountain powder and our season passes get us 10 Friends & Family Lift Tickets which start at $59.  After our friends go through the expense of airfare and rentals, it’s nice to be able to provide some monetary relief.  Plus the mountain has something for everyone.

Copper is a great place for local skiers/riders and out-of-town vacationers alike and your Copper pass gets you access to much more than just awesome skiing.  You can use your pass to get discounts on Woodward Sessions, tubing sessions, lessons, and purchases at Copper Sports.  The monthly food specials also help make lunch or après ski easier on the pocket book.  Furthermore, if you plan to make other ski trips out of state, your Copper pass will hook you up with 20% off lift ticket rates at Powdr Resorts (Park City, Killington, Boreal, Mt. Bachelor, Las Vegas, Pico).

If you’re not familiar with the mountain, check out Copper’s website.  The Copper Mountain website provides tons of information about specials & deals, the mountain, weather, and ski conditions.  Their website features forecasts from Joel Gratz, of Opensnow.com, who consistently provides the most accurate predictions in Colorado (in my experience).  If you want to know about impending snow, listen to Joel.  I also like the Snow Stake Camera which visually reassures you that the snow report is accurate.  Not to mention if the white fluffy stuff is above the 4 inch mark, skiing is free for those of you who have the Snow Day Pass.  We have friends with the Snow Day Pass and it is a great value for all those powder snobs out there.

Some of the season pass perks:

  • 20% off the published Window Ticket Rate at Powdr Resorts (Park City, Killington, Boreal, Mt. Bachelor, Las Vegas, Pico)
