About the Lift Changes

The end is nigh! No, not in an apocalyptic sense... more of an it's spring sort of sense. We're sad too, but hey, summer isn't all that bad. There is golfing and go karts and Woodward to attend.

Thanks for calling the snowline at Copper Mountain Resort. It is 4:30pm on April 13th. If you have reached this recording on the morning of April 14th, please call back after 5:45 for the most up to date information, and to find out if it is a Snow Day.
Just a heads up, Beginning the 14th, American Eagle Flyer will open at 9:00 am for the public and 8:45 am for Secret Pass holders. All other lifts will begin opperation at 10:00am. This will allow for the best spring conditions possible and provide equal access to the snow. Also beginning the 14th, all of union creek will be closed for the season but American Flyer will still provide plenty of access to beginner terrain.

Anyway, where I'm going with this is that the snow is melting. It can't be avoided. Yes, we received amazing amounts this season, and it has been one of our best seasons. But, this is also one of our latest seasons. At the moment, the lower mountain terrain and steepest terrain are losing coverage fast. Copper Mountain is a mountain; we've got rocks. The reason for beginning to shut down terrain is that we are keeping you and your equipment safe. We still have plenty of beginner terrain accessible from the American Flyer Lift as well as expert and intermediate terrain accessible from the American Flyer and many of our other remaining lifts.

Also beginning April 14th, our lift hours will change. The American Flyer will begin running at 9:00 AM (8:45 for Secret!Pass holders). The rest of our lifts will begin operation at 10:00 AM. Our closing time of 4:00 PM will remain in effect for the rest of the season. The reason we are not opening the other lifts until 10:00 AM is that with spring conditions every day, the wet snow freezes each night providing very icy conditions until the sun comes out. We feel the extra hour will provide much safer/enjoyable spring conditions.

Finally, the hours of the tubing hill have also changed. The tubing hill will be open Friday April 15th to Sunday April 17th at 11 am with the last session starting at 4 pm. The tubing hill will be closed for the season beginning April 18th.
