This season, Copper has enlisted the expertise of 6 guest bloggers to share their genuine experiences of Copper Mountain Resort. These individuals have vastly unique backgrounds, ranging from professional athletes to a mother-of-two. Please take a moment to become acquainted with the newest voices of Copper:

Alex and Savana Kislia migrated to Summit County, Colorado in pursuit of the great outdoors and mountain living.  Alex spends his workdays behind his computer box or flying off to distant, less desirable lands to provide consulting expertise.  As a teacher, Savana combines her passion for children and art to educate the youth of America.  Together, they enjoy fine cuisine, music, and winter sports.  While Alex chases steeps and side country powder stashes, Savana likes to shred well-groomed corduroy.  At the end of the day they both delight in sipping hot chocolate or a beverage of choice in the mountain lodge. This Colorado couple provides a local’s perspective of Copper’s conditions, pass products, and special events.

After spending her childhood under the sun on the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe, Anais Caradeux and her family took a rather bold step of moving to Annecy, the capital of the Haute-Savoie department of France, a region known for some of the world’s most famed ski resorts. This is where Anais got her taste for winter sports, experimenting with ice skating before pursuing a competitive career in freestyle skiing. Today, Anais holds and defends her title as the French Champion—a title she has carried since 2005. Over the last five seasons, Anais has taken to the international circuit where she is gradually making her place in the limelight. During the 2011/12 season, Anais earned the #3 spot on the Association of Freeskiing Professional’s Halfpipe World Rankings. Anais has high expectations for the coming season and will begin training at Copper Mountain in early-December. Stay tuned for this athlete’s perspective of Copper’s training facilities and competitions.

Peter Olenick is a 28 year old professional skier, born-and-raised in the small town of Carbondale, Colorado. With 12 years of halfpipe and slopestyle competitions under his belt, Peter boasts several significant accomplishments—he’s competed in 10 Winter X-Games, has won 4 X-Games medals, and currently holds the Guinness World Record for Highest Air on Skis on a Superpipe. Peter is currently training on Copper’s 22’ Superpipe, with the goal of making the Olympic Freeskiing team for 2014 winter games in Sochi, Russia!  Stay tuned for insights from this passionate, professional skier.
