With snow still on the ground and the possibility of it still being in the forecast, it’s a little hard to think about summer. Fortunately, before we all know it, it will be summer time and with it, Copper will open for 3+ months of fun activities and events. Colorado’s best kept secret is summer so why not enjoy it at Copper?
The summer kicks off on June 13 when the American Eagle chairlift starts spinning for scenic chairlift rides and hiking, weather and condition pending. All of the Village activities open up as well including go-karts, the Alpine Rush Zip Line, mini-golf and bumper boats. Copper Creek Golf Course is slated to open on June 13th with a full 18 hole 69 par course. Mountain biking trails will open on July 1st as snow melts and conditions allow.
There are plenty of great events to enjoy at Copper all summer long. Kicking things off is Copper’s Gone to the Dogs on June 28, a brand new event this year. This day-long event is all about your favorite 4-legged friend with 5 and 10k races, dock diving and avalanche dog demonstrations and a huge off leash play area, all right in Center Village. 3 Ring Weekend returns to Copper July 4-6 with free music by Max Schneider and DJ Landry, Kids’ Primp My Ride Kid-Powered Parade, fire dancers, stilt walkers and of course fireworks!
August is set to include additional returning events such as Guitar Town August 8-10, Genuine Jazz August 22-24 and Copper Country August 29-31. This year’s Guitar Town includes Tommy Emmanuel, John Jordenson and Sonny Landreth. Euge Groove, Jonathan Butler and Peter White will head up Genuine Jazz. Copper Country will round out the summer music with Kenny Loggins, Wynonna & the Big Noise and Savannah Jack.
Who's ready for sunshine, warmth and a ton of fun? See you soon!
