The sun is shining, the snow is melting and summer is here (or at least we think so)! With countless things to do and sunshine always on the menu, the Copper Mountain in Colorado’s high country is the perfect place to make the most of those precious dog days of summer. We’re set to open this Friday with plenty to do and events all summer long that will make this summer one you won’t forget.
The Eagle chairlift will start spinning on Friday at 10 a.m. for scenic chairlift rides and hiking. You can also grab a bite to eat at Solitude Station and take in the views of the breathtaking Ten Mile Range. All Village at Copper activities will be ready to rock on Friday as well. Have you ever taken a ride on a Diggler? Do you know a Diggler is? Well, you can rent this beefed-up scooter and cruise around Copper Mountain Village’s. Take in go-karts, mini-golf, paddle boats or bumper boats, the climbing wall, the Alpine Rush zip line and the bungee jump. Whew. To sweeten the deal, you can pick yourself up at Summer Activity Pass so you can enjoy ALL of these activities one the same ticket. For $44 for a day or just $74 for the entire summer season, the best deal in Summit County,you can do all the hiking, biking and activities your heart desires or your legs will allow.
For the avid golfers, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Copper Creek Golf Course in East Village is set to open on Friday, June 14. This full 18-hole championship course is the highest in North America (no, really) and it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg for a round on the greens. With JJ’s offering up daily drink specials, delicious food and a patio conveniently located off the 1st and 9th tee, what better way to spend a Saturday?
Sure, winter events are what Copper Mountain is known for but the summer season line-up is not to be reckoned with. Colorado Running Festival is first up, happening from June 28-30. Part of the Endurance Race Series, this multi-sport three-day festival features a ton of events including a Twilight 10k Fun Run, Trail Marathon Relay, traditional 10k and 5k and Duathlon. Live music, a family movie night, a kids race and a sports/health expo complete the event, making this weekend a perfect weekend for athletes and their families.
Next on tap, and definitely the most unique event, is Wanderlust. This one-of-a-kind four day festival from July 4-7 features everything you could ever want out of a summer festival. Yoga sessions with world-renowned teachers, top health and lifestyle speakers, a great music lineup, countless food and drink options and much, much more; you’ll have a hard time choosing what to check out! Wanderlust was founded on the idea of going all out in celebrating life in the most beautiful places on Earth, Colorado’s Rocky Mountains definitely qualify. This is just the beginning. Events like Courage Classic, Guitar Town and Copper Country will keep Copper Mountain hopping all summer. Also, all activities and the golf course will be open daily until September 2nd.
