The Best Things in Life are FREE

Having fun shouldn’t break the piggy bank. That’s why Copper offers Free Your Mountain Program to our guests. Here’s a recap of all the programs that keep your wallet fat and checking account happy.

Some things in life should just be free. If it’s costing you dollars, then it doesn’t make sense. No one wants to get nickeled & dimed on vacation. That’s why Copper offers Free Your Mountain Program to our guests. Here’s a recap of all the programs that are free at Copper Mountain.

Getting here shouldn’t cost you an arm and ski pole. Unlike some of the other guys, Copper offers FREE parking. Just head over to our Alpine Lot where a shuttle will pick you up. And since our terrain is naturally divided, our pick-up spots match the difficulty of the trails. Just look for our colored-flags at   our parking lots and shuttle pick-up spots and off you go!

Snowcat Access

We’ve got a couple gems here at Copper. Our FREE Tucker Mountain Snow Cat Access is as close to a backcountry, big-mountain experience as you'll find in-bounds at any resort. Our snowcats run from 10 am - 1:30 pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.  But don’t wait until the afternoon. Tucker Mountain closes at 2:00 pm. Of course our snowcat operations are subject to change depending on terrain openings and conditions. So just keeps a watchful eye out for those green flags flying at all ski patrol stations that lets you know when the Tucker snow cat is purring. The duty stations are:

  • Tucker Patrol at top of Tucker Mountain
  • Motel 6 at the top of Mountain Chief Lift
  • Timberline Patrol
  • top of American Flyer
  • Patrol Headquarters at the top of Excelerator Lift

We will also fly Open flags at the cat pick up and on the snow cats. Oh yea...first come, first served.

Hint: If there’s a long line at the cat pick up and the weather is nice, take a hike. West Ridge to Copper Bowl is open for hiking most days, weather dependent.

The FreeRide

FreeRide….take it eassy!  Our rockin’ electric car service scurries around early in the season to offer an awesome ride between the inner parking lots and Center Village. So if you’re struggling with youngsters, gear, or the thin air, contact FreeRide. The car holds 5 people and their equipment. Most of the rides are spontaneous but you can always schedule a pick-up. The FreeRide’s range is typically from the School House at Union Creek to the lodging front desk at the Athletic Club. The car does not go to Lewis Ranch or to the Alpine and Far East parking lots.
