  • Copper has been named the best place to Snowboard by Mountain Living Magazine for 2008.  Reasons cited for this award are "Copper Mountain boasts every type of snowboarding experience from a beginners track with mini kickers and small rails to the award-winning Superpipe—a 430-foot pipe with 18-foot-high walls set on a 16-degree pitch. The Kidz Terrain Park is the perfect place for those future Shaun Whites."

Copper's main terrain park Catalyst, located on the Loverly trail accessed by the American Flyer lift, has everything a rider wants: With the natural progression of large to giant tabletops, hip features, and an 18-foot Quarter pipe offer potential for as much air as riders can handle.  Halfway through the park, a rail section boasts a variety of flat, kinked and rainbow rails and boxes  Scattered throughout the park are a number of additional features of varying sizes and degrees of difficulty, all designed for optimum flow.  Click here to see where this park is located on our trail map.

Copper's Catalyst Terrain Park is an official Snow Park Technologies (SPT) Terrain Park for the 08/09 season. SPT and Copper have worked together to develop, design and build Copper's nationally recognized Catalyst Terrain Park, Main Vein Superpipe and the other parks throughout the mountain. Copper's Catalyst Terrain Park and Main Vein Superpipe will host the US Freeskiing Open and USASA Nationals in 2009.

01. Always Scope Your Landings
Look at the features first. Take a run through the park and visually inspect all features before hitting them.

02. Know Your Ability
If a feature looks too big, it probably is. Work your way up.

03. Stay Alert
Be aware where you are at all times. Stay clear of all landing areas. Pay attention to information postings in the park. Be aware of changing snow and feature conditions.
