Unfortunately, the entire resort including the chair-lifts lost power from its service provider mid-day. Copper Mountain has collaborated with the Republic National Distributing Company to host Peak Performance’s 27th Annual Genuine Jazz & Wine Festival. The event features renowned jazz musicians, an expansive collection of wines to sample, and a gourmet grill from August 26 - 28 in the Center Village at Copper.
Warrior Dash is the ultimate event for thrill-seeking athletes and lands in the Rockies for the 2nd year in a row, where 12 obstacles await along this 3.15 mile course. Participants will conquer extreme obstacles and celebrate their feats with music, beer, warrior helmets and muddy shorts. Zany costumes are encouraged! In addition, there will be free live music all weekend.
Presented by the Village at Copper, ArtGuitar gathers more than 20 artists from around Colorado and the community to create works of art from damaged and unusable guitars, kindly donated by the Guitar Center of Denver. These impressively creative guitars are up for bid, with the proceeds benefiting the Copper Environmental Foundation.
This weekend at Copper Mountain Resort enjoy Hike MS on July 30, a fund-raising event brought to you by the Colorado-Wyoming Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, offering three beautiful mountain hiking routes over varying terrain and mileage. Copper Mountain Resort and The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) announced today a long-term partnership to create the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center at Copper, an exclusive on-snow alpine ski racing venue designed to provide full-length downhill training by early November each season, beginning this fall.
As host to three noteworthy charitable events this summer, Copper Mountain encourages cyclists, hikers, and volunteers to join them in raising much needed funding for the Children's Hospital of Denver, the National MS Society, and the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson's disease research. Participants of all ages and skill level will have the opportunity to make a contribution to the community, whether it be taking on the challenging 3-day cycling course of the Courage Classic, enjoying the leisurely 2-mile Green Course of HikeMS, or enjoying the 78-mile picturesque tour of the Rocky Mountains at the Copper Triangle.
The arts are alive at Copper Mountain Resort this summer as the Village plays host to art walks, silent auctions, arts festivals, and live artist paintings. Art enthusiasts will enjoy the Parker Artists Guild Village Art Walk this weekend, July 15-17; the ArtGuitar Silent Auction during Guitar Town, Aug. 12-14, and the Arts Festival during Copper Country, Sept. 2-4. In addition, Copper supports local artists during the Summit County Fall for the Arts Celebration, Sept. 9-11.

Copper is the host venue for the largest amateur snowboarding and freeski event on earth - the 2011 USASA Nationals, from April 2 - 12. New this year, the ski and snowboard competitions will be separate, with the snowboarders competing April 2 - 7, and the skiers competing April 9 - 12, including a weather day if needed. This year, more than 1,600 of the top finishers from almost 35 different regions will attend the USASA Nationals to compete against some of the best male and female athletes from around the country in slopestyle, superpipe, boardercross, slalom and giant slalom in their quest to become national champions.

Copper Mountain is proud to host the Special Olympics Colorado Winter Games for the 23rd year in a row. Approximately 550 athletes will compete Saturday and Sunday, March 5-6 in alpine skiing, snowboarding, speed skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and figure skating. In addition, Copper is proud to be the official winter training site for all Colorado-based Special Olympics athletes and the Official Home of the Special Olympics Colorado Winter Games.

Copper Mountain and U.S. Snowboarding will host a media day to announce the 2011 U.S. Snowboarding Halfpipe Pro and Rookie Teams. Athletes from both the pro and rookie teams, including 2010 Olympic halfpipe bronze medalist Kelly Clark, will be on site at Copper Mountain, the host of the 2011 Visa U.S. Halfpipe Grand Prix Dec. 8-11.

Copper celebrates the season of giving thanks with exciting family and shredding events. The famous Copper Triangle has long been considered one of Colorado’s classic alpine road rides. Graced with 78 miles of breathtaking scenery, gorgeous roads and three challenging climbs (Fremont Pass, Tennessee Pass and Vail Pass), the Copper Triangle exemplifies cycling in the Colorado Rockies. The 2010 ride works in partnership with the Davis Phinney Foundation to raise funds for Parkinson’s disease research.
Two new announcements from Copper Creek Golf Course: (a) now offering a Swing, Eat and Sleep package, starting at $99 per person, per night; (b) the Twilight Rate of only $32 has been extended from being able to start at 4 p.m., to now being able to start at 2 p.m. – two more hours of ridiculously inexpensive golf.
The Courage Classic returns to Copper Mountain for the 21st annual 3-day, 157-mile bike tour to benefit The Children’s Hospital in Denver, July 30 – August 2. More than 2,000 cyclists will pedal for 3 days during this sold-out event, with a goal to raise money for the Children’s Hospital.

The first few Woodward at Copper summer camp sessions have been amazing. From the new cheer and skate camps, to the ski and snowboard camps, everyone has been super stoked on how it has been going so far. There is still time to sign up for Session #6 & 7. Nearly 20 artisans from the Parker Artists Guild will be exhibiting their original artwork throughout the Village at Copper, July 16 – 18. Located in Parker, Colorado, the Parker Artists Guild is made up of a wide variety of artists living in and around the Douglas County and Denver Metro areas, bringing fine art and fine craft of all styles to Copper.
Just announced, the Copper Creek Golf Course is now offering a new Noon Golf Pass, for those guests that like to play golf in the afternoons. In addition, the course conditions are very good and improving daily, due in part to $23K being invested on the course this summer. Finally, Copper Creek Golf Course passholders who bring a guest to play with them through the end of July will receive a sleeve of the new TaylorMade Penta golf balls.

Make a difference by elevating awareness and raising money in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at Breathe In at Copper, Saturday, March 20 in the Village at Copper. Intrawest and Powdr Corp today announced they have entered into a definitive purchase agreement to sell Intrawest’s interests in Copper Mountain to Powdr Corp. The transaction is anticipated to close in December 2009 and the agreement is subject to regulatory approvals including the issuance of a U.S. Forest Service special-use permit to Powdr Corp.

The Copper Mountain US Race Series Half Marathon returns for a third year of competition on Sat., Aug. 22. In addition to the half marathon through the scenic Rocky Mountains, runners can test their skills with the family-style 12k run, 5k walk and the kids MaraFun. A Friday night race expo and live music will kick off the weekend activities with the running events on Saturday morning. Registration is still open and discount lodging options are available for participants.
There are guitars in every corner of Copper this weekend. In the spirit of the “Chicago Cows,” artists from around the community and Colorado have designed, decorated, painted and created the ArtGuitars from damaged guitars. One of America’s top cyclists Davis Phinney, will join more than 3000 cyclists in their fight against Parkinson's disease during the 4th annual Copper Triangle Saturday, August 1.
The Courage Classic returns to Copper Mountain for the 20th anniversary 3-day, 157-mile bike tour to benefit The Children’s Hospital in Denver, July 25 - 27. More than 2,500 cyclists will pedal for 3 days during this sold-out event, with a goal to raise more than $2.6 million.
Starting Monday, July 20 Copper Mountain is offering free round-trip rides on the American Eagle chairlift. Copper is the only resort in Summit County to offer free chairlift rides, available from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. everyday, weather permitting. Guests are asked to visit Guest Services in the Village at Copper to pick up their free round-trip ticket on the American Eagle. Limited time offer.
