A Higher Point

Four people are better than two… most of the time. It is with this thought that we announce the replacement of the current High Point two person fixed-grip lift with a high speed quad. That’s right; Union Creek will soon have a lovely faster lift for your mid-mountain, Catalyst terrain park, easy cruising needs. Yes, Catalyst is included because we will also be cutting a new trail at the bottom of Catalyst for easy access to the bottom of the new High Point Lift!
The upgrade is in conjunction with our continued efforts for improvement. Not only will this be a huge upgrade to Union Creek, it will be a massive milestone for the improvement of our terrain parks. We consistently rank well in the terrain park world, but we have been lacking one major thing, a park lift. The replacement lift will serve this need.
To top it off, we are expanding our terrain park crew. We are currently hiring for 4 more terrain park positions as well as a 5th night groomer position. This will allow for better grooming, more features, and a faster progression for those utilizing the features.
Want to know more? Check out the press release and then leave some comments and let us know what you think!

This is major. Not only will it allow Union Creek be able to be used more enjoyably, but it will take pressure off of the Flyer lift and spread people out a little more. =shorter lift lines.

Hopefully they are saving the lift chairs and towers for Tucker Mountain!

great news. All the more reason to come back to Colorado next December/January during Australian school holidays.
Hope it will be finished by start of next season ?

How will this additional uphill capacity at Union Creek impact Timberline Express.....

A long needed addition to the area. Easy Feeling and Vein Glory are two of the best green runs on the mountain, especially as the last run of the day, where one can practically ski right into the shuttle. They were seldom skied however, due to that achingly slow H-Lift
I will miss the perpetually fresh snow on them though.

My 6 year old son and I were discussing all the benefits of a high speed quad and how painful slow HP is last week! Yeah!

Yeah! Every time I take that lift, I tell the liftie they need a high speed lift here. Nice terrain over there, but the lift is bad! Will probably be more crowded though....but worth it!

Looking forward to next season with this lift. Will the new lift have a wind shield? some lifts have this feature and it is really nice. This improvement will make me want to come to copper more and more.

Since the new lift is using a different alignment, will you keepthe exising one (perhaps shorten it to Tower 16) and use for the races and peak periods (like Steamboat does with the Christie II and III? Seems like a no-brainer.

What an awsome upgrade! I have been hoping to see this for several years.

This is great news, since I'm older and need to use the green runs. What a blessing. Thanks. I love Copper Mountain and coming out again in another week.

Sounds good, but access to Kokomo chair really needs to be made easier. Right now it is a pretty steep hike up the hill from the ticket office to Kokomo. This makes it tough for little ones (who sometimes get discouraged even before skiing), let alone their parents.

Adios, H lift.

I agree that the new lift for Union Creek Green slopes is wonderful. And, I also agree that the KOkomo lift needs EASIER ACCESS..the walk is too steep for the kids and us who are older. THANK YOU!

Slowest chairs in the mountain are Lift L and R. Any plans to make those motors more powerful?

Timberline is already overloaded. The change in HP will require Timberline to be a 6 pack

Awesome. My wife and I enjoy Union Creek, but have often commented on the slow ride of the HP lift. This will be a great addition to our experience at Copper. Way to go guys!

This is fantastic! We have our kids in the Scooters/Choppers program and the H lift was a painfully slow ride up the mountain after dropping the kids at class, especially of a powder day. Now do the same with A-lift (Just don't tell anyone as we love the terrain and the lack of lift lines! ;)

Awesome and long overdue. Eliminate the uphill climb to access the lift for new and old skiers.
Thank you.

I think that the Timberline Express should be upgraded to a six pack since this will obviously inject more people into that area.

This is great! When or will there be a Tucker Lift?

@ben-- L and R speeds have nothing to do with the motors, but everything to do with the ability of the riders. Don't forget they're beginner lifts.
