Copper Mountain Environmental Commitment

Copper recognizes that sustaining our environment is critical to the future success of our business and to future generations. As such, Copper strives to be stewards of our mountain and village environments.

Copper Mountain's Environmental Dedication

Copper Mountain is committed to and respects the environment in which we live, work and play. We strive for sustainability through balancing environmental stewardship and fiscal responsibility. We are focused on energy conservation, reducing and recycling waste, actively participating in our community and protecting the lands we share.

NSAA Climate Challenge

Additionally Copper Mountain Resort along with the other POWDR Corp Resorts has joined NSAA's Climate Challenge. The NSAA Climate Challenge is engaging ski areas across the country to take action and fight climate change. The Challenge will not only result in measurable, quantifiable results and benefits, it will also help participating ski areas make tangible progress each year to fight climate change while reducing utility bills, and convey results for the benefit of skiers and riders, ski areas, resort communities, and our planet. Thru the Challenge, Copper Mountain will continually set goals and measure the success of the goals each season to ensure we are honoring our commitments we have made.

Environmental Partners

Copper is proud to support the following organizations and campaigns.

  • National Ski Area Association's Keep Winter Cool Campaign, which supports awareness and action on global warming.
  • National Ski Areas Association's Sustainable Slopes Campaign, which advocates ski area environmental stewardship in many areas through an environmental charter that Copper supports.
  • The Rocky Mountain Climate Organization is working to build a coalition of businesses and governments in the Rocky Mountain region who support taking action on climate change in our area.
  • The U.S. Forest Service, especially the local White River Forest Ranger District, continues to be our strongest partner in our joint commitment to environmental excellence.
  • The new High Country Conservation Center, formerly known as Summit Recycling Project, is a local Summit County organization supporting recycling, green building, renewable energy and energy efficiency.
