Woodward at Copper

Copper Mountain and Camp Woodward are in partnership to bring the innovative instructional practices of Woodward to the sports of snowboarding and skiing.  Woodward at Copper – a first of its kind winter action sports training facility – is to debut Winter 08/09 to provide riders and skiers the same progressive learning opportunities previously available only to summer action sports like skateboarding and BMX.  Woodward at Copper will offer year-round programming, with summer camps in 2009.

Progressive teaching tools including trampolines, foam pits, resi-pits and bungee systems will be used to allow athletes to push the limits of their own abilities, and of their sports, in a safer, supported environment.

Copper debuted The Cage - the Woodward at Copper lounge - for the 07/08 season, where guests and groms are invited to learn more about the future Woodward at Copper facility, edit photos and video footage on the editing bays, shred through the indoor skatebowl and relax on the life size bean bags.  Visit www.WoodwardatCopper.com for the latest info and to sign up for email updates.

“This marks a new time for Copper,” said Pete Woods, director of marketing at Copper. “We are staking our ground nationally and charging forward with a creative environment to bring the most progressive ski and snowboard learning techniques to athletes and our guests.  For us, it is all about giving guests the choice to step out of their daily routines and do something different. Woodward at Copper is completely unexpected and designed to offer Copper’s guests a fresh experience.”

“This is the most innovative single project that Woodward has ever been involved with," stated Gary Ream, Camp Woodward's President. "Bringing more than 20 years experience in action sports to Copper’s awesome mountain location will be both exciting and impacting. This new facility will provide the opportunity for snowboarders and freeskiers, both beginner and elite, to reach levels, previously unattainable. Progression now has a new timeline!”
