Copper Creek Golf Course
For the avid golfer, summer in the mountains truly starts when the old clubs can be dusted off and put back to good use at Copper Creek. Copper is home to North America's highest championship 18-hole golf course.
Golf at Copper Mountain can change a golfer's idea of what a course should look like and how it should play. A mix of links and mountain style holes designed by the venerable Pete and Perry Dye, Copper Creek is a challenging course known for its tight fairways that wind through towering pines, Copper's cozy East Village, beautiful high valley wetlands and the scenic West Ten Mile Creek. With incredible views of the Gore and Ten Mile Mountain Ranges, the 6,057 yard, par-70 course accommodates novice golfers from the forward tees while providing a greater challenge for the accomplished golfer from the back tees.
The front nine winds through natural alpine terrain, towering pines, numerous lakes and streams, all leading to rolling emerald greens that demand your best concentration. The back nine changes in character as the fairways cut through the forest and the scant remains of a 19th century mining town. Pete and Perry Dye's incorporation of the natural alpine terrain, unique use of railroad tie bulkheads and elaborate mound systems present you with thought-provoking challenges and scenic pleasures.
On the tee box of the 9th hole, there is a phone where guests can call ahead their lunch or snack order for the back nine. Guests pick up the phone, order and 15 – 20 minutes later, after they have finished birdying the 9th hole, guests pick up their food at JJ's Rocky Mountain Tavern just across the walkway from the pro-shop.
The golf season typically starts in early June and continues through Labor Day or until the snow starts falling. 1 (800) 458-8386, (970) 968-3333 or visit www.coppercolorado.com/golf.

Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks
Just a few minutes from Copper Mountain is the home of the #1 mountain golf course in Colorado, the Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks. Routed through towering pines, quaking aspens, crystal clear creeks and trout filled lakes, the Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks overloads the senses with Colorado's mountain beauty. Its spectacular setting and unsurpassed service is matched only by the challenging yet eminently playable Tom Lehman and Hurdzan/Fry golf course design. Lush rolling fairways, surrounded by towering stands of pine and aspen, snow capped 13,000 foot peaks, grassy wetlands and trout filled lakes attract many of Colorado's indigenous populations. Fortunately, elk, osprey, moose and eagles make for a quiet gallery.
In spring 2008, Colorado Avid Golf Magazine rated The Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks the "Best Public or Resort Course (Mountains)" in their annual Best Courses in Colorado poll.
