Copper Mountain, CO… Copper’s Mountain Guides one-day program, a special partnership between Copper’s world class Ski & Ride School and Ski Patrol, offers advanced skiers and snowboarders an informative introduction to backcountry awareness and mountain safety skills – while exploring Copper’s high alpine bowls alongside a professional mountain guide.
As part of the program, groups get priority access to Copper’s snowcat rides and explore unique mountain ridges, chutes and limited access areas on and around Tucker Mountain and Copper Bowl. Guides consider participants’ individual interests and fitness levels while striving to hit many of Copper’s secret spots and powder stashes. Groups may consist of up to six participants, the perfect opportunity for families and friends to enjoy an exciting day on the mountain together.
Guides also help participants hone their avalanche awareness and skills using avalanche transceivers, shovels and probes in Copper’s Beacon Bowl and review tactics on boot climbing, using safe departure and stopping zones and finding good vantage points to survey terrain.
Mountain Guides one-day adventures are available throughout the rest of the season. Groups meet in the private lounge located next to Guest Services in Copper’s Mountain Adventure Center and start promptly at 9:30 a.m. Participants must be 16-or-older. The cost for a one-day, one-guide adventure is $499 and can include up to six participants. Lunch packages cost an additional $15 per person. Lift tickets are not included in the guide fee. Participants can request a ski, snowboard or telemark guide. Interested parties can call 866.464.4432 or visit Guest Services for more information and to book a space.
