Copper will be sizzling when the 7th annual Sunsation end-of-season celebration comes to town March 31-April 15. The John Popper Project and Hometown Heroes Contest are the newest additions to the Sunsation lineup and join an overflowing schedule which already includes Michael Franti & Spearhead, De La Soul, North Mississippi Allstars, Galactic, Dark Star Orchestra, Strive Roots, Particle, the Helly Hansen Battle of Battles, Planet Earth's Shop Wars, Colorado's Largest Easter Egg Hunt – featuring more than 50,000 eggs, the Volcom Peanut Butter & Rail Jam and more. In the coming weeks, Copper will announce more additions to the Sunsation schedule.
Copper Mountain is the place to be in Summit County during that special day in March when everyone is Irish. Saturday, March 17 features bagpipers playing throughout the village, authentic Irish fair, spirits, plenty of green beer and free live music with The Samples beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Copper’s West Lake.
Copper’s Mountain Guides one-day program, a special partnership between Copper’s world class Ski & Ride School and Ski Patrol, offers advanced skiers and snowboarders an informative introduction to backcountry awareness and mountain safety skills – while exploring Copper’s high alpine bowls alongside a professional mountain guide.

Seasoned distance runners and enthusiasts alike test their endurance amidst the high country scenery during the CopperMan Marathon, July 9. Featuring a full, 26.2-mile marathon, half-marathon (13.1 miles), 10K (6.2 miles) and two-mile run, the CopperMan is the highest and sure to be one of the most beautiful marathons in the country. Each event begins and ends at Copper Mountain, allowing participants, friends and family to enjoy Copper Base Camp with welcoming village restaurants eager to refuel tired bodies.
Copper Mountain is proud to recognize and support the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) initiative of Safety Awareness Week Jan. 13-19. Copper's Slope Watch, Mountain Ambassadors, Ski Patrol, Ski & Ride School, Lift Operations and Terrain Park staff join together to promote on-snow health and safety by focusing on one safety principle each day of the week with giveaways, contests and more.
The snow riders may be gone for the season but the bull and bronc riders are gathering at Copper Mountain to compete in the Copper Country Rodeo Series beginning June 17. Families and rodeo fans alike can enjoy watching professional bull riding, bareback and saddle bronc riding, trick roping and more while the cowboys vie for a spot in the series finals in September.

Everyone will have a touch of Irish in them when Copper celebrates St. Patrick’s Day Friday, March 17, complete with a free concert from the nation’s best U2 cover band “One”, free Bono-style sunglasses, Killian’s giveaways, bonfires, and plenty of green beer.
In November, Santa made a grand entrance by skydiving into Copper’s Burning Stones Plaza to help light the tree and kick off the season’s festivities. The fun continues at Copper throughout December with the High Alpine Holidays and New Year’s Eve celebrations not to be missed including a special En Fuego street party and a disco-themed dinner party in the Copper Conference Center.

For the second year in a row, Copper Mountain Ski & Ride School has teamed up with Burton Snowboards to bring the Learn To Ride Women’s Camps to female riders interested in the more focused experience that only a camp can offer. The three day camps are exclusive, women’s-only experiences that deliver the highest level of one-on-one interaction and the most fun, both on snow and off. Camps take place from Feb. 24 through 26 and again from April 7 through 9.

Copper Mountain will play host to the first of its United States of America Snowboard Association (USASA) sanctioned events on Dec. 11. The series begins with giant slalom and slalom alpine races. These competitions will be followed by a series of slopestyle, boardercross, GS and slalom events throughout the winter. Additionally, halfpipe events will be held on Copper's new superpipe visible from the Village at Copper. Spectators can sit back on Jack's deck while enjoying an unprecedented view of the action.

Copper Mountain has experienced its snowiest opening month in 23 years, with more than six feet of snow hitting the slopes.
