Woodward at Copper is the first year-round indoor snowboard and ski training facility offering programs including winter day sessions and week-long summer camps. Woodward Summer camps are far reaching across all action sports including snowboard and ski camps, skateboard, BMX and slopestyle mountain bike camps, and digital media camps. The Woodward at Copper Barn, a 19,400 square foot facility, received a major revamp before the 2013 Summer Camp season. All current synthetic snow surfaces have been replaced with Skatelite, a hard surface designed for wheels. This new surface boosts jumping progression far beyond just snowboards and skis to include skateboards, BMX, mountain bike. In addition, a new progressive foam pit has been added next to the current big jump line. The new foam pit includes a drop-in platform with small jumps designed for development of beginner park skills. The street area has doubled in size allowing for full access by BMX, mountain bike, skateboards and park snowboards and skis. Renovations also include two new viewing areas giving spectators an up-close peek at the action.
On top of the indoor renovations; Woodward at Copper continues its dedication to progression outdoors by adding a summer chairlift. Starting June 16th, Woodward at Copper camps will have full access to a lift-served snow jib park with dedicated features designed to shrink the learning gap. BMX and skateboard program offerings will be extended outdoors, on-mountain, and include an outdoor mini-ramp for summer campers. Interview opportunities are available with Phoebe Mills, Woodward Program Manager, and Olympic Bronze Medalist snowboarding judge for the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi.
