Copper is proud to announce the triumphant return of the disc golf course this summer. The US Forest Service has approved a 9-hole course in some of the same areas where the course used to be, doubling the disc golf playing options in Summit County. Starting July 1, make sure to visit Pizza Carlo, the new home of disc golf at Copper, for drink and food specials, course rules, discs for rent as well as for purchase and much more. Have no fear - the new course configuration minimizes environmental impacts and still should be quite aerobically challenging. Copper politely asks all disc golfers to please respect the course and the surrounding areas, especially the very fragile wetlands. Enjoy disc golf at Copper once again – an inexpensive way to have fun in the sun!
Make sure to check out Woodward at Copper, possibly the raddest place on the planet. Some even call it the premier trick-stomping playground in the world. It features The Barn, a 19,400 sq. ft. comprehensive ski and snowboard freestyle training facility complete with indoor artificial snow jumps, jib lines, foam pits, skate features and Olympic fly-bed trampolines, offering week-long summer camps for those looking to progress their terrain park and pipe skills in the off-season, as well as the Woodward at Copper skate and cheer camps. In addition, the Barn is now open for Drop-In and One Hit Wonder sessions on Saturdays at 2, 4 and 6 p.m., until summer camps end, when the Barn will open 7 days a week. There is still space available for most of the eight Summer Camp sessions - to sign up or for more information, call a Copper Mountain Vacation Specialist at 866.534.7444 or The Barn at 970.968.3400. Pardon our dust: As you might have noticed, Copper is replacing the High Point lift this summer. For the safety of all guests, mountain biking and other trail use may be closed or restricted without advanced notice while construction takes place. Do not worry – there are still plenty of trails open on the mountain for your hiking and biking pleasure, including Red Tail, Upper Elk Alley and A-Road. Make sure to stop by the Info Center located adjacent to Burning Stones Plaza or Guest Services in Copper Mountain Sports in the Village at Copper to find out the best hot-spots for on-mountain exploration.
Copper gives guests the freedom to define their own vacation experience. Easy access to several 14,000 ft. peaks, hundreds of miles of Colorado Scenic Byways, an 18-hole championship golf course and long stretches of celebrated fishing waters make Copper a premier summer destination. That access, combined with an intimate resort village that produces world-class events and entertainment, is especially appealing to hikers, road bikers, runners, anglers and others seeking personal growth and wellness through their mountain experience.
