COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colo. — October 29, 2012 — Copper Mountain season pass holders and the lucky winners of the VIP Preview Contest will join the U.S. Ski Team as the first to ski on the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center at Copper Mountain on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
VIP guests will receive a tour from U.S. Ski Team Athletes on the world’s only early season full length alpine training venue, experiencing firsthand the excellent snow surface, vertical rise, and training conditions that the elite athletes will experience as they prep for the world cup season. The venue features 87 HKD automatic snowmakers, two miles of World Cup Supply A-net with steel structures, five miles of World Cup Supply B-net, and fencing set on 4,500 Reliable Racing netting poles.
Copper Mountain launched the VIP Preview Contest in conjunction with snowmaking efforts at the beginning of October and with continuous dedication by Copper Mountain snowmaking and operations teams, the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center opens nearly two weeks earlier than it did last year during its grand opening season.
On Nov. 2 at 9am when the American Eagle chairlift starts turning, Copper Mountain welcomes its 40th season in the skiing business. Guests can experience riding and skiing off of the American Eagle chairlift and two Woodward at Copper terrain parks with 20 features and several jumps, catering to all ability levels.
