Copper Mountain is Full Cheer, Events and New Snow this Holiday Season

Copper Mountain Resort celebrates the holidays with lots of cheer, more snow, open terrain and events for the entire family. With the help of Mother Nature, Copper Mountain has open 487 acres for holiday powder turns. Copper Mountain has received 19 inches of new snow in the past 7 days.

 COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colo. — Dec. 20, 2012 — Copper Mountain Resort celebrates the holidays with lots of cheer, more snow, open terrain and events for the entire family. With the help of Mother Nature, Copper Mountain has open 487 acres for holiday powder turns. Copper Mountain has received 19 inches of new snow in the past 7 days.

 

Copper Mountain’s Christmas Eve En Fuego event kicks off with a free rail session open to all the shredders in the family presented by Woodward at Copper at 4 p.m. Bonfires will be set-up throughout Center Village and Burning Stones Plaza for guests to welcome Santa Claus as he makes his way down Main Vein in a Torchlight Parade at 6:15 p.m. A mini glowlight parade will be held prior in Center Village at 6 p.m. and open to all children on the nice list. Christmas Eve wraps up with Santa Claus taking a trip down the Alpine Rush Zip Line to his awaiting reindeer and sleigh and a fireworks extravaganza send off over West Lake at 7 p.m.

 

New Year’s Eve at Copper Mountain begins with the USASA Rocky Mountain Series Rail Jam. USASA snowboarders and skiers will be competing for X Games qualification held in Aspen, Jan. 24-27. A torchlight parade down Main Vein will follow the rail jam and finish off with fireworks over West Lake at 7 p.m. To ring in the New Year, encore fireworks shoot off at the base of the American Eagle Lift at 10 p.m.

 

Mark your calendars for the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix making its first stop at Copper Mountain Jan. 7-12 with both skiing and snowboarding halfpipe and slopestyle events. The Grand Prix Series has been elevated to World Cup status and bring competitors from all over the world to battle for qualification points for the 2013 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.

 

The Snow Day Pass is back at Copper Mountain! For just $99, the Snow Day Pass allows pass holders unlimited lift access at Copper Mountain any day that the mountain receives 4 inches of snow or more.
