12/13 Copper Mountain Environmental Foundation Grant Cycle Now Open

Copper Mountain employees are excited to announce the Copper Environmental Foundation’s 12/13 Grant cycle. The Copper Environmental Foundation was started in Nov. 2007 by Copper employees, with a long-term goal to support environmental initiatives in Summit County and the surrounding areas. Grant funds are raised solely by the donations from Copper Mountain employees and distributed within the community.

COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colo. — Nov. 7, 2012 — Copper Mountain employees are excited to announce the Copper Environmental Foundation’s 12/13 Grant cycle. The Copper Environmental Foundation was started in Nov. 2007 by Copper employees, with a long-term goal to support environmental initiatives in Summit County and the surrounding areas. Grant funds are raised solely by the donations from Copper Mountain employees and distributed within the community.

 

The Copper Environmental Foundation focuses on providing funding for youth (ages 5-18) environmental programs for projects in Summit and Lake Counties. The Copper Environmental Foundation supports a variety of youth environmental projects producing tangible results.

 

Proposed projects should have an aspect of environmental education and/or environmental action resulting in a positive impact on the environment. Projects that have the potential to be replicated or continued in future years are also strongly recommended to apply.

 

The deadline for grant applications is Monday, December 31, at 4pm. Applicants are strongly encouraged to call Steve Miller (970) 968-2318 ext. 38903 to discuss potential projects before submitting an application.

 

Previous grants have ranged from $2,000 - $10,000 per project.  Eligible recipients may include private or nonprofit organizations, government agencies or individuals. Past beneficiaries include High Country Conservation Center, Girl Scouts of America, Friends of the Dillon Ranger District and Summit  School District
