Summer Wildlife

Spring and summer means the return to the high country of the animals and birds that migrated away in the fall, the waking up of the hibernating animals, and the blooming of wildflowers as the snow melts away.

Many animals live in the Copper Mountain region during the summer. Here we have listed some of the animals by their seasonal characteristics.
More than 100 birds have been identified at Copper Mountain during the summer season. Here are a some of the most common.
"Uplifting" millions of years ago formed the Rocky Mountains. This took place most recently by glaciers about 10,000 years ago. The climate and the weather determine many of the features that you see today.
There are many trees that thrive in Copper's mountain environment including: Lodgepole Pine, Englemann Spruce, Subalpine Fir, Aspen, Colorado Blue Spruce, and Bristlecone Pine.
